ACTING SYLLABUS:
The
emphasis will be more on practical training with
subjects covered such as miming, voice projection,
reproduction of scenes, improvisation, dialogue
delivery, observation and much more. Bollywood
Dancing will also be taught to help students become
versatile performers.
DANCE TRAINING:
Modern Indian (Bollywood) dance will be taught
as part of the course performed to Bollywood hits.
The contents of the course include a blend of
Indian classical, Bhangra, Folk and Western Street
dance. The dance training will ensure that the
student becomes a versatile performer.
LIVE STAGE PERFORMANCE:
Part of the course structure includes preparing
for a stage musical, which will involve acting,
and dance based on the Bollywood film industry.
The stage show will then be performed in front
of a live audience at various venues (the show
may be televised). This is a great way to build
your acting portfolio - through training and practical
experience, and allowing talent scouts to see
your work.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENT
(AGENCY):
Outstanding students will be placed on the Diva
Entertainments Agency and sent for various auditions
and promoted. Students who do not wish to perform
on stage should not send their details to the
Agency.
EXAMINATIONS
Courses at HDA follow a structured format comprising
of a 12-week course with an exam in the 13th week.
The exams are optional, although we highly recommend
that you take them because it teaches you discipline,
improve your abilities to work under exam/extreme
conditions and excel quicker as a dancer! The
student will receive a report and a professionally
accredited certificate.
A fee is payable for each exam. (Reports must
be collected in the class at the beginning of
the following term).
DRESS CODE
To ensure full safety for all our students, therefore
we strongly advise all students to dress comfortably
when attending their classes (i.e. comfortable
trousers and top, and trainers/or bare-foot).
Students SHOULD NOT attend their classes wearing
dresses/skirts/tight clothing or SHOES/SANDALS
in which they may find it difficult to dance.
Failure to adhere to these rules may lead to the
student being sent home or unable to attend that
particular class.
